Jess Wilcox (she/her, b. Berkeley, CA 1995) makes work that is playfully subversive, utilizing painting, sculpture and time-based media to investigate social conventions. Her use of humor is a disarming device to excavate the limits and unfulfilled desires of heteronormativity, gender scripts, and established social expectations under the umbrella of the female gaze.
Jess works in Los Angeles and received her MFA from Otis College of Art and Design in 2025. She holds a BA in Psychology from Occidental College located in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. She has shown work at Good Mother Gallery, Peggy Phelps Gallery, The Other Art Fair, BFG Big Gay Fest, among others.
