Bio:

Brea Weinreb makes vibrant paintings that explore gender, sexuality, and social dynamics. Working from both staged scenes and real events, she casts friends as collaborative performers, using humor and theatricality to examine how identity is expressed and witnessed. Often painting gay men from her perspective as a queer woman, Brea’s work playfully challenges subjectivity.

Brea has presented solo exhibitions at OCHI Gallery (Los Angeles), Monya Rowe Gallery (New York), and Taymour Grahne Projects (London), and has participated in group shows across the United States, Europe, and Asia. Her work has been reviewed in the Los Angeles Times and is held in notable collections, including the Green Family Art Foundation in Dallas, Texas. Born in 1994 in Minneola, New York, Brea earned her BFA in Art Practice and English from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2015.
